Citing COVID-19 as the cause, the Oregon Department of Transportation announced that passenger train service at Albany Station would be reduced starting today (March 21).
After Christmas, with not much going on, I reported on an unusually shaky bike rack at Albany Station. On Thursday I went by there again and guess what: The rack had been not just fixed, but fixed in a way to make it unlikely to need repairs again.
The details are still undecided, but if the city council follows through on the general sentiment it showed on Monday, Albany Station may finally get a public restroom accessible around the clock.
