Albany city officials have an idea for an improved walking and biking trail along the south side of the Willamette River. The “multi-use path” would follow the route of an existing dirt track that links Bowman and Simpson parks.
On a leisurely ride down the Periwinkle Bikepath Saturday, a great blue heron caught my eye. So I stopped a few minutes to watch.

Wish I knew who got the shopping carts out of a section of Periwinkle Creek in the last few weeks. I don’t. All I know is that the debris I noticed there a couple of months ago has been removed.
