Bike solution at Queen and Geary: It’s easy

Written July 12th, 2025 by Hasso Hering

For years, bike riders using Albany’s Periwinkle Bike path to go across town faced a slight dilemma: how best to cross the intersection of Queen Avenue and Geary Street.

Closing that path: Not soon, maybe never

It won’t be easy or quick to “vacate” — meaning to abandon and close — an offshoot of the Periwinkle Bikepath as recommended by the Albany Parks, Recreation and Tree Commission.
