As expected, it didn’t take long for vandals to start undoing the volunteer work of Albany’s “graffiti chasers” on the Periwinkle Bikepath behind Lowe’s, near Ninth Avenue.

A reader’s email sent me on a mission along Albany’s Periwinkle Bikepath on Wednesday. Riding the bike on a paved trail away from traffic in springtime is a tough job, I know, but somebody has to do it.

Several times over the years, I have reported on the super-messy conditions of the Periwinkle Bikepath, especially the north end that is walled off from the Lowe’s home improvement center. So it was a surprise to see how clean it was when the bike took me there on April 26.
