In Oregon we now have a state law intended to let illegal aliens know ahead of time when the government is about to audit the forms they filled out in order to get a job.


Benton ‘sanctuary’ changes nothing

For symbolism without substance, few actions will beat the “declaration of sanctuary” by the Benton County Board of Commissioners. Maybe the declaration makes some people feel better, but it changes nothing in the real world.

The papers tell us that President Obama “still intends to act on his own to change immigration policy,” though he’s no longer sure just when he’ll do this. In this case his dithering may make some kind of sense. Perhaps he realizes that he might be making a big mistake by going ahead.
