Before they decide what to do about the Central and Takena buildings, Albany school officials need a lot more information, in the opinion of interim Superintendent Rob Saxton.
In case you haven’t heard, the moving day has once again been postponed for the former Cumberland Church in Albany.
Trouble appears to be on the rise in Albany parks and on the park system’s trails. To try to get a handle on it, city officials are proposing to hire a park services officer to go on patrol and enforce the rules.
Whether Albany’s historic Central School remains an elementary school may be decided on Monday. People interested in that issue get a chance to talk about it at a school board “listening session” from 5 to 6:30 that evening at the school.
In case you’re wondering, the former Cumberland Church in Albany now is scheduled to make its long-awaited move on Tuesday, Oct. 12.
Based on a notation on a remodeling permit, I reported in April that an “outpatient addiction treatment facility” was going into the historic Avery Mill Building on the Albany riverfront. Today I found out a little more.
Cumberland move now set for Sunday
All the t’s seem to have been crossed and the i’s dotted now, so the move of the former Cumberland Church in Albany is set for Sunday, Oct. 17.
