It was raining but still light Saturday afternoon when I went on a short bike ride to take advantage of daylight saving time for the last time in 2024.

Seeing the clock tower at Albany Station on a bike ride Wednesday reminded me of a time issue that remains unresolved in Oregon because the legislature passed up a chance to fix it.

Albany station clocks: The time is right

Just in time to have to be reset again for the time change Sunday, the clocks on the tower at Albany Station have been fixed. Now they all show the same time, and when I checked on Wednesday afternoon, what they showed was exactly correct.


Initiative would ban Oregon PDT

A rebellion? It’s about time …

We act like subjects, you and I, and as if to rub it in, on Sunday the system we live in forces us once again to adjust the time we go by. Standard time returns Nov. 1, and we’re expected to hop to it and fall in line. Time for a little rebellion, wouldn’t you think?
