Users of Albany’s Dave Clark Riverfront Path found the short wooden section of the route unexpectedly blocked on Saturday.
Big important news happens elsewhere, but on Albany’s Dave Clark Riverfront Path there are little things to notice and to see.
Several times a week I take the bike along the Dave Clark Riverfront Path in Albany. That’s what I did again on Sunday because I wanted to take advantage of the weather, which was exceptionally fine.
That’s a swell-looking new pathway along the Willamette River between Bowman and Eads parks in Albany. Only trouble: The thick layer of wood chips means you can’t ride a bike there.
If you go west on Albany’s Dave Clark Riverfront Path, on your right just before you cross under the Lyon Street Bridge you see this partially burned-out cottonwood trunk .
If you haven’t been to Bowman Park in Albany since the summer, you may be surprised, the next time you go, by how the view at the entrance to the park has changed.

Monday’s glorious October sunshine found me and the bike, as usual, on the Albany riverfront, where something new has just opened up.
