The Lyon Street Bridge across the Willamette River has a bike lane and a raised sidewalk, each 6 feet wide. The City of Albany is contemplating a plan to combine them as a 10-foot wide multi-use path, the point of which is hard to see.

Forget ‘multi-use;’ install lane markers
As someone who occasionally rides a bike across the Willamette River on Highway 20, I was interested in the news that ODOT is willing to spend money to study the idea of a “multi-use path” on the Lyon Street Bridge.
