Where was the “No Kings” crowd six years ago? That’s when Oregon’s governor bypassed the legislature and issued an edict that now threatens to undermine the state’s agriculture and industry.

Linn law enforcers: Trust the people

The message was clear before, and it’s even clearer now: Violating the governor’s corona order may or may not kill you — most probably not — but it won’t land you in court or jail, at least not in Linn County.

In the Covid ‘freeze,’ expect no arrests

Despite tough talk from Governor Brown, don’t expect anyone to be hauled off in handcuffs in Albany or elsewhere in Oregon for violating her new executive order for a coronavirus “freeze.”

Food waste: Let the state keep out of it

As part of Governor Brown’s recent executive edict to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has published a plan to reduce food waste. What it boils down to is a plan to require citizens in Albany and around the state to clean their plate or else.

  You’re looking at the signature page of Gov. Kate Brown’s executive order to reduce Oregon’s greenhouse gas emissions. The order came out Tuesday. One of the things it shows is that the governor doesn’t write cursive.
