In a public hearing that was difficult to follow because of its virtual and remote nature online, the Albany Planning Commission Monday approved a planned unit development of 11 houses and 44 apartments on a wooded site off Airport Road.
The Albany City Council has refused to waive the fee that neighbors have to pay to make their case against “The Banks,” a proposed 120-unit apartment complex on the Willamette River.
The brush has been cleared away, and pretty soon the oaks and other mature trees will come down as well on Franklin Avenue just west of Airport Road and Interstate 5.
