The bike and I were going west on Albany’s First Avenue Tuesday when a white paper notice in the window of a long-vacant building caught my eye.


Permit filed for downtown structure

In January 2018 the city of Albany approved renovating the facade of what counts as a historic building at 129 First Ave N.W. Now the new owner has applied for a building permit to get the renovation done.


Downtown site: From tavern to church?

Late in 2018 it looked as though this blighted storefront in downtown Albany might some day be fixed up. It hasn’t happened yet,but its new owner may be thinking of the building as a future church.


Burggraf Building’s sale is pending

The front of 129 W. First Ave. in downtown Albany looks like the picture of what they mean by “blight.” But maybe not for much longer, as the property known as the Burggraf Building is under contract to a potential buyer.
