Edgewater Village nearing the finish line

The biggest residential development on Albany’s Willamette riverfront is rapidly nearing completion. I see the progress at Edgewater Village every time I ride past on the Dave Clark Path, which happens several times a week.

List of highway projects raises questions

ODOT has invited the public to review a draft of its 2021-24 transportation improvement plan, including numerous projects in the Albany area. On a rainy winter evening, what could be a better use of time than to read and wonder about some of the items on the list?

Bikeway project stalls over undercrossing

This is supposed to be the year ODOT builds the Albany segment of the long-proposed Albany-Corvallis bikeway. But the project has hit another snag: It requires the trail to cross under a railroad trestle, and the railroad has said no.

City posts proposed plan for site on Santiam

Since 2018 people have been asking what’s happening with the unfinished remodel of the former Albany restaurant, most recently called San Blas, at 2845 Santiam Highway. Now the public can look at a plan.

Riverfront update: Bryant Park’s closed

As you can see, high water in the Willamette and Calapooia rivers has once again swamped Bryant Park in Albany as it does almost every year about this time.

What’s that odd-looking yellow contraption up on the roof in the distance? It caught my eye on Jan. 25 as I was standing under the Pacific Boulevard viaduct in Albany and looking around.
