Measure 92: Lots of airy assertions

Written September 30th, 2014 by Hasso Hering

There ought to be a law against ballot initiatives involving scientific fields — such a genetic engineering — which only one in a thousand voters knows anything about. Campaigns: What candor would sound like

Written September 29th, 2014 by Hasso Hering

It takes self-control these days not to yell at the TV, or to keep from throwing things. The politicians have showered the stations with money to run their campaign ads. The ads are all pretty bad — ranging from shallow to just plain dumb — but the one that gets me today is one by Jeff Merkley.

Big money aims at Albany senator

Written September 25th, 2014 by Hasso Hering
