The sad condition of Albany’s Waverly Lake caught the attention of the mayor and city council this week, if only for a minute.
Well, I stopped at Waverly Lake on Tuesday evening, wondering if there had been any change in the infestation of algae or some kind of water weed.
A visitor to Waverly Park alerted me Monday that people were raking off the unsightly algae, the subject of a couple of stories on this site. I got on the bike to take a look.
Money approved for cleaning Waverly Lake
There now is a chance of preventing algae from building up in Waverly Lake next year the way they did this year and in summers past.
