For no particular reason, my bike ride along the Albany riverfront Saturday took me to Bowman Park, where the only thing to see was the rain-swollen Willamette River.

The Willamette River at Albany was expected to crest at just under 20 feet in the early hours Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service, well below the flood stage of 25 feet.
When you’re sitting at your desk on the first of November and it rains, it’s nice to look outside and see a couple of feathered friends on an otherwise gloomy day.
