The Oregon DEQ sounds pretty stern when it comes to enforcing the new law on checkout bags. But while the City of Albany expects a question or two about this, enforcement sounds pretty much like an issue unlikely to come up.


Plastic bags: A few weeks left to stock up

Only about six weeks are left before single-use plastic checkout bags are banned in Oregon. Better stock up while you can. Because soon you’re going to have to buy substitutes for all the uses for which you now get plastic bags free.


The coming ban on plastic bags

In the interest of reducing plastic pollution on land and sea, the Oregon legislature this year most likely will enact a statewide ban on single-use plastic checkout bags. But just how much pollution this will prevent is unknown.
