On Facebook the other day, someone asked what they were building on 14th Avenue S.E., on the southern edge of the Heritage Mall parking lots in Albany. Someone else provided the answer, and it was the right one.

As if Albany needed more fast-food restaurant franchises, it may get another one on 14th Avenue S.E., on the south side of Heritage Mall.

Whatever happened to the Chipotle plan?
On a bike ride somewhere else last Sunday, I passed the section of the Heritage Mall parking lot where in June the Albany Planning Division was considering a site plan for a Chipotle Mexican Grill. The site off 14th Avenue, just east of the Red Robin, remains untouched, so what’s the status of that plan?
