Some days there is nothing to see on my riverfront beat. But sometimes there is, even if it’s nothing big. Three items caught my attention Monday afternoon.
In other riverfront news, Albany-area boaters are still waiting for the new floating dock at Takena Landing, but the ramp at Bowman Park is once again clear of woody debris and OK for putting boats in and taking them out.
The riverfront is my beat, and Wednesday it offered an unusual sight: The hull of a derelict speedboat loaded with a collection of old tires and a toilet complete with its tank.
Plan for apartments will have public hearing
While the Albany city planning staff has approved the site plan for The Banks, a 105-unit apartment complex on the Willamette River east of Bowman Park, it’s the planning commission that will decide the case after a public hearing.
