Much of the campaign propaganda raining down on us now is based on distortion and falsehood. Now and then there’s a useful exception. A newly arrived mail piece, for  example, has just reminded us that, unfortunately, one mid-valley candidate favors a state program to make motor fuel more expensive.

An update on Woodland Square

The apartment buildings in Albany’s Woodland Square project are going up pretty fast. At least it seems that way to this frequent passerby. And it’s possible the first residents may be able to move in next February.

Looks like Albany’s newest roundabout will welcome drivers to the city’s historic districts, at a cost so far estimated at between $70,000 and $90,000 including landscaping.

In Benton County we’re at least several years away from completing the Albany-Corvallis Bike Trail, so in order to visualize the thing we have to ride other paths, such as SART, the Santa Ana River Trail in California’s Orange County.
