In case you have not noticed, it’s getting close to spider season in western Oregon. But according to what you can learn online, having spiders around is nothing to worry about.
Albany’s city planning division is reviewing a plan by Washington Federal to open a branch on a vacant lot east of Lyon Street, but it will be only temporary.
Some of the street trees planted along North Albany Road don’t look so hot these days. They seem to be suffering from drought and heat, and if they’re not already dead, the city is trying to keep them alive.
The city council flap over accessory dwellings was not resolved on Monday, and a closer examination makes me wonder why there’s a flap in the first place. Fixing Albany’s development code to align with a new state law should have been no big deal.
If you have a white or otherwise light-colored vehicle, you know the dilemma that signs like this cause. Put it into reverse and go the long way round? Or keep going and hope that the oil is no longer fresh, no matter what the road sign says?
