If you’re keeping track of City Hall news, and even if you’re not, Mayor Sharon Konopa’s veto of a code change on accessory dwellings has been upheld. Now she’ll work with the city staff to come up with a version she likes better.


Accessory dwellings: A needless flap

The city council flap over accessory dwellings was not resolved on Monday, and a closer examination makes me wonder why there’s a flap in the first place. Fixing Albany’s development code to align with a new state law should have been no big deal.
