There’s no news here, just an observation: Wouldn’t it be nice if the seasonal wintertime flooding of Albany’s Bryant Park was a permanent thing and people could enjoy something called Bryant Lake all year long?

On a bike ride Wednesday to celebrate the temporary absence of rain, I stopped at Albany’s Bowman Park to take a quick look at the Willamette River. It reminded me that a few days ago, the river got a B-minus on some report card. Why not an A or at least a plain B?
The riverfront is my beat, as I believe I have pointed out from time to time, and there’s news from the Wheelhouse.
On a slow day, watch the river rise
Patrolling my riverfront beat on Friday afternoon on the bike, I could not help but notice that the Willamette had risen rather sharply over the last few days. Looks like the Corps upped its releases from the upstream dams.
