On Facebook, Albany police reported new vandalism at Monteith Riverpark last week. On a bike ride, I went by there on Sunday to take a look.
Big important news happens elsewhere, but on Albany’s Dave Clark Riverfront Path there are little things to notice and to see.
It didn’t take long for some moron to damage the new Willamette River overlook on the Albany riverfront.
City Manager Peter Troedsson told the Albany City Council in his weekly “Friday Report” about a case of tree vandalism and theft in Takena Landing Park. Saturday I took a ride along the park’s Eagle Trail to see for myself.
For the first time in months I rode a bike on the trails at Talking Water Gardens on Friday and came across a partly — and weirdly — painted wooden footbridge.
Watching out for vandals at Monteith Park
Quite a bit of damage has been done at Albany’s Monteith Riverpark since it was reopened in July after more than a year of reconstruction. The city has deployed its camera trailer at the park to try to prevent any more.
