Albany’s system of street mapping sometimes defies common sense, which explains why in a recent story I wrote a confusing description of the footbridge you see in the photo above.

Let’s take a quick little tour of what might qualify as ground zero of Albany vandalism. Not many people go there, which is probably why it often looks the way it did on Thursday afternoon.

Periwinkle update: Trash mound is gone

A few weeks ago, the north end of the Periwinkle Bike Path behind Lowe’s was a mess, with a big mound of bicycle parts and other trash piled up against the wall. Now that spot on the path is clean, or at least it was when I went through there Sunday on the bike.
