For more than three years, passers-by have been wondering what was going in at this address on busy Pacific Boulevard in Albany. This week we got the answer when wall signs started going up.
IÂ took this photo on a Sunday in February 2020, after ODOT announced plans to work on the busy Albany intersection of Waverly Drive and Santiam Highway. Now the department is getting ready to carry out that and another Albany project at an estimated combined cost of nearly $6 million.
Watching a video on urban planning and transportation the other day, I heard the presenter refer to “bike gutters.” What did he mean?
Friday’s short video tour of bike lanes along Highways 20 and 99E (Albany’s Santiam Highway and Pacific Boulevard) caused a least a couple of viewers to worry about the sewer grates as they flashed by.
What are they building there? That’s a question I get now and then, and in the case of 416 Pacific Blvd. S.W. in Albany, the short answer is “a commercial building.”
There’s not much to say about this Albany highway sign, except that, well, this does look like the wrong way to attach a sign.
Browsers’ Reborn: Revival of a bookstore
From the outside, Browsers’ Bookstore at 1425 S.E. Pacific Blvd. looks about the same. But step inside and you will be astonished at how the place has changed.
