One welcome side effect of the corona outbreak has been many more people on bikes in and around Albany, especially in the open country outside of town this sunny Saturday in spring.
On a hillside just above the loop drive around Bryant Park, you can just make out a concrete foundation. Climbing up and taking a look, however, doesn’t get you any closer to understanding what this structure might have been for, back in the day.
The public does have the right to access Bowers Rock State Park via Bryant Way, according to the Oregon Department of Parks and Recreation.
The sign on Bryant Way was right on Christmas Eve, but just barely.
(Please find the update below). This is getting a little old. I keep thinking that the “Road Closed” signs on both ends of Bryant Drive and Bryant Way outside of Albany may be outdated. But no, they’re not.
