Bryant Way and Bryant Drive is one of the nicest roads for a bike ride in and near Albany. That’s why I went there for a short jaunt before it started raining Wednesday afternoon.
On my first bike ride after Oregon’s mid-January ice and snowstorm, I found Bryant Way closed near the Albany city limit.
The hazelnut harvest has been in full swing in the Albany area. At least it seemed that way Friday in one of the big orchards on Bryant Way.
The western end of Queen Avenue was closed for construction Tuesday, and the effect — added traffic elsewhere — was noticeable as the bike and I were coming back into Albany on Bryant Drive.
In the June 29 story on Bowers Rock State Park, I left you hanging. I said I would pass on any news regarding that undeveloped state park west of Albany if I heard from the Oregon Department of Parks and Recreation.
It’s summer and seasonally warm, so why not make an excursion into the wilds of Bowers Rock State Park? I did, and here’s the result.
Lots of rain has the usual result
The heavy rains of the last few days had the usual results in Albany. Bryant Park was closed, and so was a section of Bryant Way near the city limits.
