If the Albany City Council wants once again to wade into the thicket of marijuana regulation, it can do so under Oregon laws passed this year. Among other things it could ban the sale of recreational marijuana, but the ban would have to be submitted to the voters in the 2016 general election.
After checking out the interior of the first units in Edgewater Village over the weekend, I’m encouraged about the prospects of this, Albany’s biggest investment yet in reviving a blighted part of the old downtown.

Drought or no drought, we keep adding lawns that need irrigation to look as lush as this one. Does that make any sense? So far the answer is both yes and no.
