The latest holdup in plans for a new supermarket and hardware store in North Albany seems to involve the city building permit. It’s been applied for but not yet approved.
Queen crossing to remain bumpy

Albany’s busiest railroad crossing on Queen Avenue will be improved for safety one of these days. But it won’t be soon, and when it’s done it will still be a bumpy ride for cars.

The timing of cooling centers
If the hottest time of a very hot day comes around 5 p.m., what good are “cooling centers” that close at 4? That’s what I’m wondering after reading the latest heat-related press release from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
