Republic Services has renewed its pitch for weekly yard debris collections in Albany, and with a new council, this time it will likely get what it wants.
Albany customers of Republic Services won’t get weekly yard debris pick-up, and they won’t have to pay $3 more a month for their disposal service as Republic had proposed. That’s the result of a city council decision Wednesday night.
Yard debris: Albany OKs weekly collection
With the approval of the mayor and three other council members, Republic Services will charge Albany households $2.95 more per month for trash service and start picking up yard debris every week instead of every other week.
