The Albany police have cracked down on a long-established transient camp underneath the Dave Clark Riverfront Path. Whether it sticks this time, we’ll have to wait and see.
On Simpson trail: Picking up campers’ trash

A cleanup of homeless camps took place today in the jungle that is the Willamette riverfront off Albany’s Simpson Park. And from the looks of it, cleaning up the place is a never-ending task.

On Cox Creek Path, the scenery has changed
The Cox Creek Path in Albany is about one-third of a mile long and runs from Simpson Park to Salem Avenue. It used to be a scenic segment of Albany’s system of walking and cycling paths. This spring the nature of the scenery has dramatically changed.
