At the Union Pacific’s crossing of Cox Creek in Albany, the process of lifting off the old bridge and putting the new one in its place was about halfway through when I stopped there on Sunday afternoon.
On Cox Creek, bridge replacement coming up

The contractor replacing the Union Pacific’s railroad bridge across Cox Creek is getting ready for the main event — tearing out the old wooden structure and installing the track on a new concrete deck.

Liking the new Van Buren Bridge
Thursday was my first chance to take a look at the newly completed Van Buren Bridge across the Willamette River in Corvallis. It is a very handsome and useful bridge, not just for motorists but for walkers and people on bikes as well.
