At Freeway Lakes, primrose battle resumes

In the summer of 2018, the Freeway Lakes near Albany were still a great place for messing about in small boats. By 2021, boating was much more restricted by the spread of ludwigia hexapetala or water primrose. Things have gotten no better since.

If you haven’t been to Freeway Lakes southeast of Albany for a couple of years or so, you’ll be shocked to see the sorry shape the place is in now.


Close to town, a nice place for boats

The bike took me past Freeway Lakes southeast of Albany the other day. Once again I was glad to see that this place is getting some use by people in small boats.
