It was in June 2018 when I last navigated the waters of Freeway Lakes near Albany in my canoe. I’m hoping to repeat the experience once it warms up this spring.

Now that warm weather is likely to lure more boaters out on the Willamette River, allow me to point out a couple of new hazards in the water off Albany’s Dave Clark Riverfront Path.

Close to town, a nice place for boats

The bike took me past Freeway Lakes southeast of Albany the other day. Once again I was glad to see that this place is getting some use by people in small boats.
