The subject of portable toilets just won’t die as far as the Albany City Council is concerned. On Wednesday the council voted down a porta-potty ordinance, but you can bet that in one form or another the topic will come up again.
The portable toilet outside First Christian Church in Albany was the focus once again as the city council engaged in another round of talk about it on Wednesday.
Over the weekend I rode the bike through Monteith Riverpark. The restrooom situation there reminded me that the Albany City Council is not yet done with portable toilets.
First Christian Church in downtown Albany can keep the portable toilet it set up for homeless people in 2019, the city council decided Wednesday.
Once again, portable toilets are on the agenda of the Albany City Council. And if the council wants to keep allowing the one that sits outside the First Christian Church downtown, it may have to change the municipal code.
Albany City Council discussions about the portable toilet outside a downtown church are probably over — for one year, at least.

Albany is taking another run at writing a law that allows portable toilets in more places than permitted now but still retains a number of restrictions.
