In case you’re keeping track of the installation of artificial turf on the football field of South Albany High School — and who isn’t? — here’s what it looked like on Monday.
Here’s what the new artificial turf for South Albany’s football field looks like up close. It looks the way it feels: artificial. Chances are it will appear more like a natural surface once tons of sand have been spread in between the blades of plastic grass.
As you can see and hear in the video, workers have been laying the groundwork for installing artificial turf on the football field at South Albany High School. They hope to be finished by the time the field will be needed, and I hope they make it.
Piecing together a special Albany playground
Exactly a year ago, the Albany City Council approved the purchase of a special kind of playground for installation at Lehigh Park. Now the city’s park maintenance crew is bolting the pieces together.
