The playground at Lehigh Park, at 17th Avenue and Center Street in southeast Albany, has been wonderfully transformed since the last time I saw it in October 2024.

Piecing together a special Albany playground

Exactly a year ago, the Albany City Council approved the purchase of a special kind of playground for installation at Lehigh Park. Now the city’s park maintenance crew is bolting the pieces together.

One day last week I rode the bike to Albany’s Lehigh Neighborhood. The point was to follow up on a story last May about the planned replacement of the playground at Lehigh Park.
