Looks like Aquatic Harvesting accomplished its mission on Albany’s Wavery Lake, so today the company crew loaded their two weed harvesting machines for transport to their next assignment.
The planned operation to clean Waverly Lake of unsightly green growth has been delayed and likely won’t start until August. That’s the message from Albany officials on the city website and on social media.
The growth of aquatic plants in Waverly Lake is getting an early start this spring. An effort to prevent vegetation from covering most of the lake will be made this summer.
The Albany Parks Department hopes to hire a company to keep Waverly Lake clear of unsightly algae and weed growth this summer.
