We now have an account of what happened when a car with three people inside crashed through the fence at Third Avenue and Vine Street and landed upside down in the Santiam Canal.


A night-time rescue — where it happened

Today’s report by the Albany Fire Department of an unusual night-time rescue made me go take a look at the place where it happened, under the Third Avenue bridge across the Calapooia River and the waterfall on the Albany-Santiam Canal.


On Spring Hill Drive on Wednesday afternoon
