Pacific Power left a door hanger inviting me to “meet your new smart meter… Go ahead: Take a look.” So I did. And now I wish that along with the door hanger, the installer had left instructions on what the readouts on the meter mean.
It began as a private project to help people in need. But it became a nuisance and even a threat to the woman who started it. So now her “blessing box” is gone.
If you want to waste four minutes of your life, check the video of this intersection, the only one in Albany where cameras watch for drivers running the yellow or red lights. You’ll see no violations during this short span, but during all of last year the cameras sprang to life more than 6,000 times.
Biking: No news is good news
If you’re waiting for something to happen in this short video, you are waiting in vain. Nothing happens. Which is the way we cyclists like it.
