On the Eagle Trail: A hiker’s thanks

[youtube video=”AwaGOLbQtb0″] Helen McGovern’s walking group took a hike down the Eagle Trail from Albany’s Takena Landing Park last week. Then she sent me a note: “Thanks to whoever cleaned up the trail. It was a pleasure to do the hike.” I went to see for myself, and she’s right. The trail is in great shape.


Name change: Still a work in progress

On Wednesday the bike took me to the environs of South Albany High School because I was wondering how far the school formerly known as the Rebels had come in replacing its outdoor signs. As I found out, it has a way to go.

St. Anne Orthodox Church has given up plans to build a church and fellowship hall on Gibson Hill Road, and the congregation’s property there is for sale.


Doomed or not: Inside Cumberland Church

Last time I saw the inside of the former Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Albany it was a jumbled mess, used for storage and not much else. As the video below shows, on Saturday the inside was still old and worn, but picked up and clean.
