If you have business with the Linn County clerk this fall, regarding either elections or records, you’ll have to go to the Wheelhouse Building on the Albany riverfront instead of the courthouse downtown.

When I visited the late Steve Druckenmiller’s office in the Linn County Courthouse on Sept. 25, it was Chief Deputy Clerk Marcie Richey who showed me around.

Six-year-old Isla Newton Azorr of Albany saw this metal bowl attached to the flagpole pedestal in front of the Linn County Courthouse. “What is this?” she wondered, as anyone would.
