Bridge project to close Goldfish Farm Road

Goldfish Farm Road, between Knox Butte Road and Santiam Highway on the east side of Albany, will be closed to through traffic starting Monday so the bridge across Cox Creek can be replaced.


Albany, Linn County spar over land use

The Albany City Council has voted to try to block a land division outside the city limits approved by the Linn County Board of Commissioners. The case is of interest to anyone who owns and might want to develop property within the city’s “urban growth boundary.”


Big lots in ‘fringe:’ City staff says no

A Sunday bike ride took me past this hillside on the east side of Scravel Hill Road. Its owners would like to develop spacious home sites there, but a great thicket of city of Albany and Linn County land use regulations stand in the way, so far.
