It takes a while to get legions of ODOT officials to sign off on the details of work on the highway system, which explains why nothing has yet happened on construction of a Love’s truck stop in Millersburg. But the wait is due to end next month.
As expected, Love’s has met the concerns of Oregon transportation officials and will get the green light to build its truck stop off I-5 when the Millersburg City Council approves a development agreement on Feb. 28.
If you’re wondering about the status of the planned Love’s truck stop in Millersburg (and even if you’re not), here’s the latest: The company and ODOT are working on an agreement to satisfy the state’s concerns about the nearby freeway interchange, and when that’s done the project can go ahead.
Unless there’s an appeal by opponents or some other hitch, the mid-valley will likely have a new truck stop just north of Albany before the year is out. The Millersburg Planning Commission approved the site plan for a “Love’s Travel Stop and Country Store” on Tuesday night.
