When I visited the late Steve Druckenmiller’s office in the Linn County Courthouse on Sept. 25, it was Chief Deputy Clerk Marcie Richey who showed me around.

Those beautiful steps in front of the Linn County Courthouse may just be too tempting if you’re a kid with a skateboard.

Six-year-old Isla Newton Azorr of Albany saw this metal bowl attached to the flagpole pedestal in front of the Linn County Courthouse. “What is this?” she wondered, as anyone would.

Why are they putting up all that scaffolding at the Linn County Courthouse this week? To gain access to the roof so the roof can be replaced, that’s why.
