Intermodal center to get some ‘green’ life

It was a year ago, in October 2023, that I last parked the bike at the new but dormant intermodal shipping center in Millersburg. Now it looks as though this multimillion-dollar terminal will finally get some use.

On my bike ride to Millersburg Saturday, I happened to see, from a distance, railroad cars sitting under the giant crane at the Mid-Valley Intermodal Center, which otherwise has remained unused since it opened in December 2022.

Since the Mid-Willamette Valley Intermodal Center in Millersburg opened with great fanfare last December, people have been wondering why it isn’t operating and when it will start doing so.

Governor helps open Millersburg reloading center

The speeches have been made and the ribbon has been cut, and any day now the Mid-Willamette Valley Intermodal Center in Millersburg should start handling freight.
