You may have noticed that the steeple of the former Cumberland Church is partially uncovered. Sheets of particle board protecting it have been taken off.

Following through at Whitespires Church

It was 46 degrees at 2 this afternoon and sunny. As long as the sun shines, cold weather evidently is no deterrent when it comes to refreshing the paint on a historic Albany church.

‘Labor of love:’ Taking care of Whitespires

For a couple of weeks now, the Whitespires Church has been getting a careful facelift with the help of a big orange boom lift, visible from blocks away. On Tuesday the bike took me past this Albany landmark at Fifth and Washington, and I stopped to take a photo or two.

If everything goes according to plan, the historic former Cumberland Church in Albany will be moved on Thursday, Sept. 2.
