With 22 degrees showing on the thermometer and freezing rain falling from the sky, today was not a good day to get on the bike. So instead I stood there in the cold and rambled a bit about our energy sources for staying warm.

The Heritage Mall parking lot is not usually as empty as it was on a Sunday afternoon in March 2020, the start of the Covid pandemic. But it’s not often completely full even during normal times.

Climate fanatics want us to suffer and freeze

Wintertime temperatures don’t keep some of us from riding our bikes. We look forward to warming up again indoors when the ride is done. But these days some activists want to deprive Oregon citizens of convenient and affordable heating at home.

Climate change? Demand better weather!

The calls for Oregon government action to affect the climate never stop. What the climate agitators really want is not a better climate but higher taxes on private enterprise. But talking about climate action sounds so much more benign, on the surface anyway. If only we could!
