It now sounds as though apartments are not in the future after all for Edgewater Village, the private riverside housing development in which Albany’s urban renewal agency invested $2.4 million.
My notes say on this meeting say “yak… yak… yak,” which is shorthand for all you need to know about Wednesday’s discussion about the Albany Carousel’s request for $339,500 in urban renewal money. In the end, all but two members of the Central Albany Revitalization Area advisory board voted, as you knew they would, in favor of granting the request.
The riverfront is my beat, as I may have mentioned, and on a bike ride Wednesday I discovered that construction had begun on the long-awaited project to light up the night along Albany’s Dave Clark Riverfront Trail.
The Signs of Victory “Freedom Road House” homeless shelter would leave central Albany and move across the tracks, literally, under a plan endorsed Wednesday by the advisory board of CARA, the Central Albany Revitalization Area. But before it happens, a few details remain to be nailed down.
No mystery here: DC Path update
Those mysterious chunks of concrete lying along the Dave Clark Path on Albany’s riverfront are no mystery at all when you remember that a contractor is working to install lighting all along the trail.
